Denver Defensive Fire Day 3
On January 4th, 2026, almost 48 hours after a massive five-alarm fire broke out at the Harker Heights Apartments, 5301 Leetsdale Drive, the Denver Fire Department was still on scene mopping up hot spots and putting out flareups. Multiple parts of the building collapsed on Friday night limiting firefighters to an exterior attack. Once able to enter the building, firefighters will conduct extensive overhaul. One firefighter suffered a minor injury on Friday and the cause is currently under investigation.
