Families file lawsuit against The Joshua School and staff after bus aide abuse

DENVER (KDVR) — Families are filing a lawsuit against The Joshua School and several staff members after a former Littleton school bus aide pleaded guilty to several counts of assault and child abuse against autistic students.

The law firm Rathod Mohamedbhai LLC filed a lawsuit on behalf of three families whose children were abused by a former Littleton school bus aide, Kiarra Jones.

This comes after Jones accepted a plea agreement charging her with 10 counts of third-degree assault of at risk individual and two child abuse charges in January, following a video released in 2024 that showed Jones physically abusing a student on a bus.

The lawsuit is against The Joshua School and staff at the school, including Director of Schools Sam Davis, Executive Director of Schools Cindy Lystad, Special Education Director Martha Muth, Teacher Kaelin Morkisch and Lead Teacher/Behavior Specialist Molly Thomas…
