DENVER — A teen was sentenced on Friday for a shooting that injured three people on Denver’s 16th Street in 2024.
Cyrus Haggard, now 17, was sentenced to seven years in the Youth Offender System with a sentence for the Department of Corrections suspended. Haggard will serve 22 years in the DOC if he fails to complete his YOS sentence. He pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder in May, according to court records.
The shooting happened just after 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 13, 2024, in the area of 16th and Wynkoop streets in lower downtown. The victims, all men, were taken to the hospital. At the time, police said one victim was in critical conditions and the other two suffered injuries that weren’t life-threatening…
