Colorado bull rider to make National Western Stock Show debut

In April 2025 at the Loveland High School Rodeo, Steamboat Springs bull rider Mason Reine was knocked unconscious when, midride, his head collided with the bull’s head. He became hung up on the launch and eventually was tossed 10 feet into the air.

After a hospital visit, X-rays and a concussion diagnosis, Reine convinced the doctor — and his mom — to let him ride the following day. After some pressure, the duo agreed, and Reine went on to an 82-point ride and a competition victory.

“It was definitely a wild two days,” Reine said. “But I wanted to show the kids watching that when you fall you can get back up and persevere.”…
