DENVER (KDVR) — A woman has died after a Colorado State Patrol trooper discovered her “gravely injured” in the passenger seat of a vehicle that was pulled over in Commerce City for speeding overnight Friday.
The Commerce City Police Department said the woman was discovered after the trooper pulled over the vehicle at about 12 a.m. at 74th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Medical personnel attended to the woman but she was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

CCPD said officers learned the driver and the woman were involved in an earlier collision in the 7200 block of Interstate 270, where he struck a parked RV.
Instead of seeking medical attention or reporting the crash at that time, police said the driver fled the scene of that crash, went home, switched vehicles, and told officers he was attempting to transport the woman to the hospital when he was pulled over for speeding…
