AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — Newly released body camera video is shedding light on the DUI arrest of Aurora City Councilman Robert Andrews, who police say was driving with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.
According to Aurora police, Andrews was pulled over just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday near South Chambers Road and East Florida Avenue after officers say he made an improper left turn, nearly struck a curb and weaved between lanes.
When officers approached his truck, the police report says Andrews first handed over his Aurora City Council identification card instead of his driver’s license. Officers also noted the smell of alcohol and described his eyes as pink and watery…
