DENVER (KDVR) — Just days ago, the U.S. Secret Service found 19 card skimmers at businesses around Denver, saving possible victims from losing money or EBT benefits. FOX31 spoke to the agency and cybersecurity experts to learn how people can protect themselves.
The U.S. Secret Service has a team of experts trained to find skimming devices. Many of these devices are now so advanced, officials tell us, that the old shake of the credit card terminal at the pump may not even pick them up.

Last Friday, the U.S. Secret Service team came to Denver and worked with the USDA Office of Inspector General, Homeland Security Investigations, General Services Administration Office of Inspector General, FBI and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to check more than 2,700 card readers at a variety of businesses.
