When Ted Scambos visited the Arapaho Glacier in 2021, it was dramatically smaller compared to when he first saw it nearly 20 years earlier.
Scambos, a University of Colorado Boulder senior research scientist, estimates that during those two decades, the glacier lost roughly half its volume due to warming summers in Colorado.
