DENVER (KDVR) — The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said it recovered a stolen gun during a traffic stop earlier this week.
The sheriff’s office said a deputy initiated a traffic stop on Wednesday after a driver didn’t stop for a traffic signal. During the stop, ACSO said the deputy observed an alcoholic beverage in plain view and that further investigation led to the discovery of a loaded handgun inside of the vehicle.

The gun turned out to be stolen, according to ACSO, which said the driver was also found to have two active protection orders prohibiting him from possessing alcohol.
