Douglas County deputies respond to kangaroo on the run call

DENVER (KDVR) — A not-so-common pet did its best rendition of Sweet’s 1974 hit “Fox on the Run” when it led Douglas County sheriff’s deputies on a very short chase through Denver metro suburbia.

Residents of a Highlands Ranch neighborhood recently called law enforcement about a runaway kangaroo roaming the streets, the sheriff’s office said.

When deputies responded, they came face-to-face with the kangaroo, and what would pass as a prompt for a prank call turned into a very real situation, involving a pretty high-profile suspect.
