Driver fleeing traffic stop crashes into building in Aurora: police

DENVER (KDVR) — A driver who fled an attempted traffic stop in Aurora on Wednesday made it less than a block before crashing into a building, according to police.

The Aurora Police Department said the driver, identified only as a woman, was being pulled over for a traffic infraction when she refused to pull over and veered into oncoming traffic in an effort to get away, at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

APD said officers immediately turned their lights and sirens off due to the driver’s “reckless and dangerous behavior,” but that this “didn’t stop the suspect.”

The driver ultimately only made it less than a block before crashing into a building at Potomac and 14th Avenue, according to police, who said the building was vacant and that no community members were injured…
