LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR)— A Lakewood park at the center of recent safety concerns is now clear of encampments, and children have returned to the playground. However, residents said homelessness remains a growing issue just steps away.
Last week, neighbors near Aviation Park told FOX31 that encampments were affecting safety and quality of life. On Monday, the park itself was free of tents, and families were using the space again.

For local mother Sadie Montano, the change brought relief.
“It’s nice to know that we could be surrounded not by drug use, or any type of tents or anybody who is trying to be publicly visible urinating or anything like that,” Montano said. “It feels comfortable knowing that we can be safe.”…
