Opinion: Denver Homeless Hotel Diary: Screamers, wall-bangers, hole punchers

For the past week, about this time every morning (3:41 a.m.) a band of profoundly mentally ill residents in my building start their morning jam. First, a man with a high-pitched voice begins to whine like nails on a chalkboard. Next, the meth users begin to throw breakable items to the floor. Finally, another neighbor begins to punch holes into the walls.
