As a teen, I got my fair share of tickets. The first, and by far the worst, was not too long after I got my driver’s license. Driving home from school, I was paying attention to the speed limit, came around the corner, and got busted for doing 50 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone.
A Costly Lesson Behind the Wheel
Needless to say, my parents were not happy with me in the slightest. As an adult, I have learned that time management is one of the most important factors in avoiding a ticket. Some people need to learn that the hard way, like me.
One Colorado teen is going to lose his license, and when he gets it back, he’s going to have one expensive insurance rate. Parker Police clocked the 17-year-old driver for going 56 miles an hour over the speed limit in a 35 mph zone.
Bodycam Footage Released
The bodycam footage released by the Parker Police Department’s Facebook page shows the officer approaching the vehicle and telling the teen, “If you were an adult, you’d be going to jail” for driving 91 miles per hour. The teen can be heard saying in the video that he’s a “great driver”.
While teenagers have been known for doing stupid things throughout the history of mankind, this action was very dangerous, not only for himself, but also for other drivers on the road. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes when he has to tell his parents why he got pulled over by the Parker Police Department…
