Arvada driver arrested for DUI 3 times since January

DENVER (KDVR) — A driver has been arrested for driving under the influence three times since January in Arvada, according to a social media post from the Arvada Police Department.

On Jan. 4, around 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to a crash in the 8300 block of Hoyt Street after reports of a truck ramming into a house. The driver fled the scene of the crash, but the passenger of the vehicle identified the driver to the police, who located and arrested the suspect at a Circle K.

The driver faced charges, including:

  • DUI/DUI drugs
  • Driving as a habitual traffic offender
  • Resisting arrest
  • Several additional violations

Less than a month later, on Jan. 27, around 8 a.m., officers responded to the 7200 block of West 61st Avenue after people reported a U-Haul truck that was blocking the driveway. The same driver was asleep behind the wheel while the truck was running and traveling in reverse.

They were arrested and faced charges, including:

  • DUI/DUI drugs
  • Driving as a habitual traffic offender
  • Additional violations
