The Denver Police Department warned on their Facebook page about a sophisticated credit card courier scam that drained almost $2000 from one victims account.
The post comes from an incident that occurred earlier this month when the scammers contacted the victim and seemingly used several pieces of information that were likely acquired through data breaches and used them to convince the victim their banking account had been compromised.
They informed the victim they would need to go to their home and retrieve the old card and then sent a verification code which the victim shared with the suspect likely giving them access to the account…
