DENVER (KDVR) — Gas prices have risen significantly in recent weeks, but there are a handful of stations where drivers can fuel up for under $3.50 per gallon around the Denver metro area.
Prices were down to under $2 a gallon at several stations around Denver in January, and though Denverites could find prices below $3 toward the beginning of March, as of Monday, March 16, there are only a couple stations in the whole state with prices below $3.

Nationally, the average price per gallon of gas is $3.68, up 80 cents from a month ago and up 23.2 cents in the last week.
Prices are not so good in Denver, with the average gallon at $3.85 as of Monday, according to GasBuddy, which surveyed 844 stations in Denver. That is 43.5 cents up from a week ago, 123.6 cents more than a month ago, and 107 cents higher than a year ago…
