DENVER — When a woman in Denver was feeling under the weather, she called to cancel a doctor’s appointment, but it was a call that would save her life.
For many, the calls that come into doctor’s offices can feel like an afterthought. Kim Headley and Tonya Hopper have heard it all, but in December, there was a call that came in they couldn’t forget.
“I woke up about 4 a.m. in the morning and I felt my chest pulsating and I felt really exhausted,” Launice Freeny-Brown said. “And when I woke up, I said I have to go down and cancel that appointment. So about 6 o’clock, I couldn’t put one foot before the other one.”…
