Littleton Snowplow Slay: Feds Turn Up Heat on Office-Lot Killers

Nearly a decade after a young father was gunned down while clearing snow in a Littleton office-park parking lot before dawn, federal agents and local investigators are again asking the public to speak up. Jaime Albert Villarreal Jr. was shot and killed while on the job, and a co-worker was wounded but survived. The case has stayed stubbornly cold, and relatives say the long wait for answers has cut deep.

FBI renews tip plea

The FBI’s Denver field office this week used its X account to remind the public that the killing is still unsolved and to urge anyone with information to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers. FBI Denver emphasized that tips can be submitted anonymously through the program.

The organization’s case listing for Villarreal highlights a special reward connected to the investigation and gives the tip line as (720) 913-STOP. For full details, see Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.

What investigators say about the 2016 attack

According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation cold-case file, Villarreal, 23 at the time, and a co-worker were plowing a parking lot around 5:30 a.m. on March 18, 2016, when two men walked up and opened fire. Villarreal was killed, and his co-worker was shot in the leg.

Investigators say the gunmen then stole the snowplow truck and later abandoned and burned it roughly a mile away, near South Broadway and West Jamison Avenue. The CBI file still lists the homicide as unsolved.

Suspect description and available leads
