On a quiet stretch of south Denver sidewalk, family and friends gathered Saturday to grieve in the shadow of an unsolved killing. Balloons drifted into the sky, flowers piled up along the curb, and loved ones of Miguel Romero tried to make sense of a road rage encounter that ended with a father dead and no suspect in custody.
Denver police identified the victim as 42-year-old Miguel Romero. Officers responded to the 3000 block of South Winona Court after a reported shooting on Nov. 29, 2025. Romero was rushed to a hospital, where he later died. Investigators have described the case as possibly tied to a road rage confrontation, and no arrests have been made, according to Denver7.
Family Remembers Romero
Romero’s daughter, Leah, told KDVR she was in the car when her father was shot and that “it happened so fast,” according to local reporting. Loved ones gathered at the roadside memorial for a balloon release, trying to honor Romero where his final drive ended. Metro Denver Crime Stoppers also circulated an image of a white or light-colored pickup believed to be involved in the shooting, KDVR reports.
