DENVER (KDVR) — Denver has seen record-breaking heat this winter, but it’s not summer just yet in Colorado.
From the warmest start to the year in history to the hottest it’s ever been in March with days in the 80s, it’s been unseasonably warm. With the heat, Denver has only seen a little snow, with about half its average around this time of year.
Ski resorts start to close early after unusually warm winter
Meanwhile, in the mountains, conditions aren’t much better. The mountains have seen more snow than Denver, but ski areas are still struggling to stay open. Some ski areas even closed early due to the warm weather and lack of snow.
Even with March being the snowiest month this season with 10.5 inches in Denver, it’s starting to feel like summer across the state. However, according to the Pinpoint Weather team, the snow might not be over just yet.
