Colorado homicide suspect captured in Colombia after fleeing before trial

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — A homicide suspect wanted in a fentanyl death from 2023 who had been on the run since January has been captured in Colombia.

Max Arsenault, 33, was arrested in Medellin, Colombia, on March 4 by Colombian Migration authorities with assistance from the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service, according to a press release from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. He had been on the run since Jan. 17, which was just three days before he was set to stand trial for the fentanyl overdose death of 47-year-old Nicholas Dorotik. He had been released on bond, ACSO said.
