Man caught napping in stranger’s attic in Wheat Ridge

DENVER (KDVR) — A man was caught napping in a stranger’s attic in Wheat Ridge, according to a social media post from the Wheat Ridge Police Department.

An officer was performing proactive patrols around West 44th Avenue and Dover Street. The officer was clearing a vehicle that was registered and owned by a man who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, said the police department.

A man left the car and entered a nearby home, and the officer confirmed the identity of the man via a photo.

The officer contacted the owners of the home that the man went to, and they gave the officer permission to search the residence. Wheat Ridge police called a partnering agency, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, which sent a drone pilot to the scene…
