Georgia Murder Suspect Tracked To Mile High Apartment, Grabbed By U.S. Marshals

U.S. Marshals tracked a Georgia murder suspect more than a thousand miles to Denver, arresting 27-year-old Tylar Oglesby at a relative’s apartment near E. Mississippi Avenue and S. Dayton Street just before 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to Denver7. Oglesby was wanted in Georgia on a first-degree murder warrant in the March 12 shooting death of Diante Oates and is now in Denver County custody awaiting extradition.

Investigators in Georgia learned Oglesby had flown to Denver and contacted the U.S. Marshals Service, Denver7 reported. Marshals and local partners set up surveillance at the relative’s apartment, then moved in and took her into custody just before 3 p.m. She was booked into the Denver County jail and now faces extradition back to Georgia.

“The quick arrest shows the effectiveness of multi-agency cooperation in capturing violent fugitives,” U.S. Marshal Kirk Taylor said in a statement, according to Denver7. The Marshals Service credited coordination with its local partners for how fast the case came together.
