Black Hawk non-profit raising money to send service dog to Colorado

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Black Hawk-based non-profit Guardian Shepherd Service Dogs is about ready to send their first trained service dog to Denver, Colorado to support a disabled veteran in need.

Odin, a black German Shepherd, is almost one year old, and he’ll spend his life helping a wounded service member. Guardian Shepherd hopes to raise $5,000 to help get Odin to his new home.

“He is in the final stages of his training and ready to be sent off,” Guardian Shepherd Lead K9 Trainer Hannah England said. “We just need our final equipment, kennel, dog food, so on and so forth, plus some travel expenses to make sure that we make this transition easy.”…
