DENVER (KDVR) — Lakewood police caught eight juveniles driving recklessly on electric dirt bikes, according to a social media post from the Lakewood Police Department on Friday.
The department said that the riders were performing wheelies in traffic and driving in oncoming lanes.

All of the juveniles were issued summonses, and the electric dirt bikes were impounded.
The Lakewood Police Department said that e-bikes can fall into three different classes:
- Class 1: Pedal assist only, with motor assistance up to 20 mph
- Class 2: Pedal assist or throttle power up to 20 mph
- Class 3: Pedal assist only, with motor assistance up to 28 mph
