Super El Niño could be the biggest ever. What does it mean for Colorado snow?

DENVER — Climate models released this weekend are pointing to what could be the most powerful El Niño event in recorded history, and Colorado residents may feel its effects in a significant way next winter.

9NEWS Weather Impact Team meteorologist Chris Bianchi said the latest models show sea surface temperatures in the central Pacific could run 2.5 to 3 degrees Celsius — roughly 5 to 6 degrees Fahrenheit — above average.
