AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — The Aurora City Council on Monday approved a resolution expressing empathy and sorrow for the families and friends of people killed in police shootings, following months of public pressure from community members seeking recognition and answers.
The measure passed in a 7-3 vote. The resolution does not create any new policy or legal requirements; instead, it formally acknowledges the grief experienced by those impacted by officer-involved shootings, including cases that were later deemed legally justified.
