Denver condo residents are suing a gym because of their weightlifters load ‘groans’

We’ve seen restaurants be sued for their coffee being too hot and others sue haunted houses for being too scary, but this may be a first… A Denver gym being sued because their weightlifters are grunting too loud!

Three residents of the Beauvallon condominiums in downtown Denver have sued Summit Strong, a powerlifting gym that operates on a lower floor of their building, alleging that the noise of crashing weights, banging equipment and “weightlifters groaning, yelling and struggling to lift weights” has made their homes unlivable.

The lawsuit, filed April 21 in Denver County District Court, accuses the gym of operating “a loud powerlifting gym beneath a residential floor” without adequate soundproofing or “reasonable parameters” on noise…
