Travis County investigates mass student e-bike ride on Austin roadways

AUSTIN, Texas — Travis County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating after a large group of students rode electronic bikes along major roadways earlier this month, ignoring deputies’ orders.

The incident occurred around 2:55 p.m. Saturday, May 16, on Westlake Drive and Texas Loop 360, according to a letter Sheriff Sally Hernandez sent to parents of middle and high school students at Eanes and Lake Travis independent school districts.
