AUSTIN (KXAN) — What should have been a once-in-a-lifetime moment for Dripping Springs High School seniors instead left some graduates feeling rushed, confused, and in some cases, left out.
For 2026 graduate Lauren Wensel, the ceremony’s biggest traditions, turning the tassel and tossing caps, happened before she and several classmates even made it back to their seats.
“I was walking back to my seat when I heard them say to flip our tassels… and I just looked at my friend like—what?” Wensel said. “We weren’t even sitting down yet. The last rows weren’t even there. Then everyone started throwing their caps… and I was just in disbelief.”…
