AUSTIN (KXAN) – The Pease Park Conservancy is planning a community event next month to honor a beloved art installation destroyed by fire in central Austin.
The wooden troll sculpture, known as Malin, burned down in early May at Pease Park. By the time crews arrived, the sculpture was fully engulfed, leaving behind a charred site that has since drawn visitors paying tribute.
In a social media post, the conservancy said it has seen an outpouring of support from the community, including artwork and mementos left in memory of the installation.
