AUSTIN, Texas — A man found dead in a trash can in South Austin over the weekend has been identified as 59-year-old Duc Vo. According to police, his death is being investigated as a homicide.
Officers responded to the 4400 block of Pack Saddle Pass just after 12:26 p.m. Saturday. The Austin Police Department said city employees discovered Vo’s body while emptying a trash can. He was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m.
Vo’s body showed signs of blunt force trauma, according to the Austin Police Department. Detectives believe he was assaulted and placed in the trash can sometime Friday between 4 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., more than 30 hours before his body was found…
