Man sentenced to 15 years following fatal east Austin shooting in 2024

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was sentenced in connection with a fatal February 2024 shooting at an east Austin car show, according to a Travis County court document filed in May 2025.

The document shows Carlos Rivera pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for the death of then 20-year-old Christian Loredo. Towards his sentencing, he will receive a jail time credit of 463 days.
