Advocates call to preserve Barton Springs Bridge amid possible replacement

AUSTIN (KXAN) — As the Barton Springs Bridge marks its 100th anniversary, community members and advocacy groups are calling on city leaders to reconsider plans to potentially replace the historic structure.

According to city officials, the 100-year-old bridge has deteriorated over time, with cracking concrete and other structural concerns raising concerns about its long-term safety and functionality.
