LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — Family members, friends and neighbors gathered Sunday to remember the nine people who lost their lives during the devastating Sandy Creek flooding one year ago.
The memorial was held at the Historic Round Mountain School and Community Center in Leander, where attendees reflected on the tragedy and honored those who died when floodwaters surged through the Sandy Creek area of northwest Travis County.
For family members like Sherry McCutcheon and Terry Traugott, the pain of losing loved ones remains as strong as ever.
