AUSTIN, Texas — Thousands of Austin Energy customers were without power in southeast Austin early Monday, according to the utility’s online outage map.
The map showed seven active outages affecting 5,763 customers as of 6:32 a.m., with most affected in southeast Austin near Onion Creek Metropolitan Park. By 9:32 a.m., only 652 people were left without power.
The outages do not appear to be connected to a planned overnight power shutdown in downtown Austin and West Campus, which began at 11 p.m. Sunday as part of the utility’s Repowering Downtown project…
