AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who led officers on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle before abandoning the car and fleeing on foot last week.
The Austin Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a stolen vehicle in the 9300 block of South I-35 southbound service road at 8:20 a.m. Thursday, police said. Officers located the vehicle traveling westbound on West Slaughter Lane and attempted a traffic stop.
The suspect sped away before abandoning the vehicle in the 9500 block of Bentley Garner Lane and running from the scene, police said. Officers set up a perimeter and used a K9 unit to search for the suspect but did not find him…
