AUSTIN (KXAN) — Travis County District Court Judge Maya Guerra Gamble said Friday she would need time to decide whether to grant a temporary restraining order blocking the Texas Department of State Health Services’ use of a THC testing methodology challenged in a lawsuit.
A group of hemp product businesses brought the lawsuit last week; they argue that the state agency’s testing procedures don’t comply with state law and improperly created a state rule.
Texas DSHS previously declined comment to KXAN about the pending litigation, and said it would only communicate about it via court filings and in-court statements.
