While most high school students were busy enjoying their summer vacation, Goliad High School senior Noah Blevins spent his summer representing Goliad American Legion Post 193 at the Texas Boys State Convention at the University of Texas in Austin.
The event is one of the premier leadership and citizenship programs in the country. Started in 1935, Boys State is held in 49 states. Participants, divided into cities and political parties, conduct an intensive training week focused on elections, government operations, legislative processes and other similar topics.
