Man charged with murder in May CaJJun Eats shooting that left 1 dead, 4 injured

AUSTIN, Texas — A man has been charged with murder in connection with a May shooting at Down South CaJJun Eats that left one person dead and four others injured, according to court documents that reveal investigators believe three separate shootings unfolded within minutes.

Kovante Markail Williams, 32, is accused of firing the shot that killed 27-year-old Mykal Jones on May 6 at the restaurant at 15424 FM 1825 in unincorporated Travis County.

Austin police responded around 1:31 a.m. and found several people with gunshot wounds. Jones was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 a.m. Four other people were hospitalized in stable condition…
