AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man accused of assaulting a security officer at Huston-Tillotson University was arrested Sept. 6 and later charged with a third-degree felony, according to court documents.
The incident happened shortly after midnight Aug. 1 at the university, which is located at 900 Chicon Street. Austin Police said the man, later identified as 23-year-old Edward Vernon Johnson II, trespassed onto the property.
When the security officer tried to escort Johnson off the property, APD said the officer was physically assaulted.
