A land survey of two Travis County backyards found that a new deck crossed the property line in two places. The deck belonged to the owner of the west lot. The land it reached onto belonged to the woman who had bought the east lot in 2016.

She had ordered that survey after the neighbor began the deck that year, the opinion indicates. She told the neighbor the fence between their yards did not follow the real line, and hired a contractor to build a new fence that would. She asked the neighbor to remove the encroachment. The neighbor declined.
