AUSTIN (KXAN) — If you commute to Austin from Manor, or Elgin, odds are at some point you’ve paid for the 290 Toll to get where you need to go faster. But in the future, drivers could have an option to pay a toll all they way to Elgin.
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, which manages most of the tolls in the Austin area, is considering expanding the current 290 Toll all the way to SH 95 in Elgin. It currently ends at SH 130.
“This is our first showing to the public to show everyone what the project could potentially look like and we want to get some public input on that to see what changes may need to be made before we actually finalize the environmental process,” said Mike Sexton, the Director of Engineering at CTRMA.
