Texas lawmakers discuss power to impeach Travis County District Attorney José Garza, other ‘rouge DAs’

AUSTIN (Nexstar) — Texas lawmakers let out frustration against the Travis County District Attorney Office in a tense committee hearing on Wednesday afternoon, leading at least one Republican representative to suggest investigating and impeaching district attorney, José Garza.

The Texas House Select Committee on Governmental Oversight met at the Capitol to discuss one of the charges issued by Speaker Dustin Burrows: prosecutorial integrity.
