Fires happened at neighboring south Austin car dealerships a month apart

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Fire Department is still working to determine the causes of two separate fires that happened at neighboring car dealerships on South Congress between Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive.

“Devastating, empty and sad,” are the words Nicole and Tommy Martinez used to describe the destruction of their dealership Drive 512 Auto Ranch. The fire department estimated the blaze caused about $275,000 in damages.

“We’ve lost everything,” Nicole said. “We lost both of our incomes overnight.”
