As Central Texans enjoy a bit of reprieve from 90° heat and heightened humidity, area weather experts are monitoring the possibility of a cold front soon pushing into the Lone Star State.
CBS Austin meteorologist Avery Tomasco highlighted the potential of another round of rainstorms and a possible cold front in a social media post on Wednesday, October 7. In a 6-10 day outlook, Tomasco noted the possibility of “above average precipitation” in the works, writing in part: “It’s only a matter of time before heavy returns in an El Niño October.”
When will a cold front hit San Antonio and Austin?
Tomasco reiterated that analyzing forecasts beyond a seven-day stretch increases uncertainty and unpredictability, but added that “confidence is increasing” in a slew of low pressure moving toward Texas during the latter half of next week.
“This would set us up for a multi-day rain & storm chance similar to what got the new month started,” he wrote in part. “There will be a cold front in the mix as well sometime next weekend, perhaps a strong one. Stay tuned, scallywags.”…
