Months after flood, Hill Country residents push for more federal help

KERRVILLE — People affected by Texas flooding the past two summers gathered in Kerrville on Thursday to petition state and federal officials to provide more financial help for flood victims.

The meeting, held at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Kerrville, was organized by the nonprofit Extreme Weather Survivors and by Dondi Voigt Persyn, creator of Found on the Guadalupe River, which helps reunite people with possessions that were swept away after the floods.

Along with Kerr County residents, the meeting included people who were affected by flooding in Travis County and in the Houston area…
