Austin’s 78753 ZIP code was the most common location for stolen vehicles in the Texas capital, with that area running along the Interstate 35 and U.S. Highway 183 corridors and encompassing neighborhoods like Windsor Hills, Georgian Acres, North Lamar, Heritage Hills, Harris Ridge, Copperfield and Gracy Woods. Within the 78753 ZIP code, city data recorded 144 reported thefts during the six-month time span.
Shortly behind was Austin’s 78758 ZIP code, bound by U.S. Highway 183, Parmer Lane, I-35 and MoPac Expressway. That region amounted to 139 reported auto thefts between January 1 and June 30. Rounding out at No. 3 is the capital city’s 78741 ZIP code, nestled in Southeast Austin in neighborhoods including East Riverside, Montopolis and Pleasant Valley and recording 137 car thefts.
