San Antonio’s Robert Rodriguez to get permanent tribute in Austin

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio’s most famous filmmaking son is getting a permanent tribute at the state’s capital. Robert Rodriguez – the 55-year-old writer-director who built a reputation on do-it-yourself bravura before getting his Hollywood bona fides with projects like “Spy Kids,” “Sin City” and “From Dusk Till Dawn” – will become just the seventh recipient of a Paramount Star when he’s officially honored May 25 outside Austin’s Paramount Theatre, the venue announced Thursday.
